Pendleton to hold recycling event

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --  The Camp Pendleton Recycling Center is scheduled to hold a free Electronics Recycling & Household Hazardous Waste Event at the 22 Area Recycle Center, bldg 22054, the first Saturday of every month.

Some electronic items that may be dropped off at the event include:

- Computer monitors

- Televisions

- Telephones

- Printers

- Computers

- Video equipment

- Miscellaneous electronic equipment

Some hazardous materials that may be dropped off at the event include:

- Cooking Oil

- Paints

- Florescent bulbs

- Batteries (household)

- Car Batteries

- Yard Chemicals

- Aerosol Cans

According to the recycling center’s official website, “The Camp Pendleton recycling program was started in 1987 as a Qualified Recycling Program (QRP) in order to stimulate conservation of our natural resources, and as an incentive for military installations to reduce the volume of recyclable materials disposed in landfills.”
