The Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton Safety Center's mission is to promote the combat readiness of operating forces by providing safety support services. Our goals are to train all Marine Corps Base commands and organizations in occupational safety and health; mishap reduction and Federal Employees' Compensation Act costs through an aggressive safety program, and to exceed the reduction goals set by the Secretary of Defense, and Headquarters Marine Corps Safety Division. Our customers are Base personnel, the operating forces, extended Marine Families, tenant commands, and occasional Reserve components.

Quarterly Safety Committee Meeting

Quarterly Safety Committee Meeting - The Quarterly Safety Committee Meeting is hosted by the installation safety office and attended by both civilian and military supervisors, safety managers, and safety representatives from across the installation. This includes both base and tenant command personnel and is meant to bring together MCB Camp Pendleton to discuss safety agenda items. It is designed to meet the requirement found in MCO 5100.29C.

 

These safety agenda items normally include: 

  • Safety news
  • Safety policy updates
  • Safety subject matter expert speakers
  • Safety communication
  • Hazard identification
  • Corrective controls for known hazards
  • Safety standards, policies, procedures
  • Mishap review and discussion
  • Developing Safety culture through promotional or education
