CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Camp Pendleton hosts the Marine Corps Installation Command Senior Leaders Summit at the Pacific Views Event Center, Feb. 29. The Senior Leaders Summit is a gathering of Marine Corps Installation leaders to discuss the future of the Marine Corps Installations Strategic Plan out to 2030.
"The Senior Leaders Summit is a chance for the senior leaders of Marine Corps Installations Command to gather and strategically guide the long-range vision and planning for installation infrastructure, resources and services,” said Bob Rice, Director of Operations, MCICOM. “This particular Summit is focused on the development of MCICOM's Strategic Vision 2030.”
According to the USMC Installations Strategic Plan, “The fundamental aim of the MCICOM Strategic Plan is to enhance installation support of the Marine Corps’ warfighting readiness.”
During the two day summit, the leaders will focus on the balance of human capital, fiscal constraint and infrastructure.
“This is an opportunity for all of us to sit down and relax a bit and concentrate on the long term,” said Maj. Gen. Charles L. Hudson, Commander, MCICOM, in his opening remarks.
In attendance where leaders from installation commands across the Marine Corps including Marine Corps Installations West, MCI East, MCI Pacific and Marine Corps Base Quantico.
“The Senior Leaders Summit is held once per year, and normally timed to coincide with the Installations and Logistics Board," said Rice.
Following the Senior Leaders Summit, the attendees will be joined by Lt. Gen. Michael G. Dana, Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics, for the 3 day Installations and Logistics Board.
