MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the U.S. Postal Service are set to unveil a series of postage stamps to honor military working dogs (MWD) during a ceremony on base, Aug. 30. Each of the new stamps features a stylized geometric digital illustration of one of four of the canine breeds - German shepherd, Labrador retriever, Belgian Malinois and Dutch shepherd - that commonly serve in America's armed forces.
Media are cordially invited to cover the unveiling of four new stamps during a ceremony at the Camp Pendleton MWD kennels at Friday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. There will be a demonstration of MWD capabilities as part of the ceremony and dog handlers will be available afterward to conduct one-on-one interviews with participating agencies. Also, the stamp illustrator and graphic designer will be in attendance.

Attending organizations must enter via the San Luis Rey Gate, please arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. A Communication Strategy and Operations representative will be present and will escort all media personnel onto MCB Camp Pendleton.
