CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- A brush fire, which started on range 409A in the vicinity of Roblar Road Thursday afternoon, burned 1,454 acres aboard Camp Pendleton.
Working as part of a Unified Command, personnel and firefighters of Camp Pendleton Fire Department, Miramar Fire Department, Cleveland National Forest, North County Fire Protection District, San Diego County and CALFIRE conducted aerial and ground firefighting operations at the northern end of base through Monday afternoon.
Approximately 500 personnel in the unified command participated in firefighting efforts using multiple fire engines, strike teams, dozers, rotor-wing and fixed-wing assets aircraft.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
